JOOST MAGLEV is the bassist/backing vocalist of popular Dutch metal band GALANOR and of J-Pop coverband SLIGHTLY SPRING. In 2002 Joost started to compose, write, record and sing material on a regular basis, resulting in many demo recordings, a full-length demo album in 2005 called Voluntary and a mini album in 2008 called Unleaded Blood, before joining Galanor and Slightly Spring.
In 2008 Joost gained controversy as fans of popular Japanese pop artist Gackt claimed his music was too similar to Gackt’s music, accusing him of plagiarism. Even though no official legal claim has ever been made, Joost contemplated about the future of his own music, knowing that making music that sounds too much like other music is not the way to go.
In 2009 Joost is back on track! Together with fellow Galanor man Sebas Honing he works on a full length progressive rock album called THE HANDS. With work in the final stages, the album is expected for release mid 2009. And now, two new Joost Maglev solo songs appear, the pop/rock oriented outburst of PACIFICA and the soft country rock ballad PORTIA.
